Winnipeg Jets

Ottawa Senators

WIN Jets Point Spread

Under 6.5 Game Totals

Puck Line Pick

Here is another game that will see a playoff contender take on a cellar dweller. As of Wednesday, the Jets are currently 1 point behind Arizona for the final spot in the Western Conference playoffs. They have been playing decent hockey lately, going 6-4 in their last 10 games. Right now they are riding a two-game win streak and must beat teams like Ottawa to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot. As for Ottawa, their season has really fallen off the rails and that is being nice. The Senators are the second worst team in the Eastern Conference, trailing Carolina by 19 points for a playoff spot. They have won two games in a row, but just 3 of their last 10. The Senators are just 4-11 in their last 15 home games and 2-8 in their last 10 against a team from the Central Division. I cannot back Ottawa right now, so I lean to Winnipeg to pick up the road win.

Over Under Pick

I do not really like the total in this game because we have two offenses that are not the best. The Jets average 3 goals per game, which is decent, but Ottawa only scores 2.7. Both defenses on the other hand, allow 3 goals or more per game. Over the last five games, Winnipeg’s defense has been better, allowing 2.8 goals. The under is 3-1 in Winnipeg’s last 4 games and 6-3 in Ottawa’s last 9 games. If I had to pick a side, it would be the under because I do not trust the Senators to keep up.
