Against the Spread Pick
This should be a fun one between two of the feistiest teams in the country. West Virginia is the better of the two programs this season but all three of their losses have come on the road and with the way these teams play defense whoever has the ball last could win. There is a lot to like about what coach Bob Huggings is doing with the Mountaineers this season but what is missing is that singular great player to push them to the next level and help them win on the road. Texas Tech already has as many losses as they did a year ago when they made it to the title game. They just lost a tough one in OT to Kentucky at home. No shame there but it is the kind of loss that could linger, especially with the way that WVI fights you. The Red Raiders are a stout defensive team so they are usually in every game but this team is missing what it has the last couple of years, that next level guy. Ja Ramsey has looked really good for a frosh at times but he is not quite at that level. Take West Virginia on the road.
Over Under Pick
The Mountaineers have a huge scoring discrepancy home to road, 80ppg to 64ppg. That is just one of the reasons they have just one over outside of Morgantown this season. When these teams met at WVU the total came in under in an easy win, as has the total in four of the last five. Look for this one to do the same. No indicators either team is going to break out offensively. Take the under.
