Money Line Pick
The Jets and Blue Jackets have been marred by injuries for most of the season, so the All-Star break is desperately needed by both teams. Winnipeg has lost four of their last five, while Columbus has been one of the hottest teams in the NHL. So much so that the Blue Jackets have won five-straight games. The Jets have won five of their last six visits to Nationwide Arena. Yet Columbus’ strength has been on their home ice for most of the season. Winnipeg features a more consistent offensive unit, but they have had a history of struggles on the road. The Jets are 4-8 in their last 12 road games. Winnipeg has had Columbus’ number, but the Blue Jackets are resilient, which is why taking them at home is the smart play here.
Over Under Pick
The Jets and Blue Jackets’ first meeting this season was a back and forth game that resulted in a Winnipeg 4-3 victory. Columbus hasn’t quite been a three-goal a game scoring threat, but they have been able to hang with some of the league’s best teams in that regard. Four of the last five head-to-head meetings resulted in seven-goal totals. These teams seem to bring the best out of each other and this is the perfect way to enter the All-Star break. So much so that backing a six-goal total with high confidence is a must.
