Against the Spread Pick

Avoid this game like the absolute plague until it is confirmed what the Wake Forest Demon Deacons are going to bring to the table. Leading scorer Brandon Childress (foot) and fellow guard Sharone Wright Jr. (personal) are questionable for Wednesday’s date with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Second-leading scorer Chaundee Brown is out after sustaining a foot injury this past weekend. The Demon Deacons have already lost five of their last six, so this is not what they need right now. Notre Dame features four players averaging in double-figures–led by John Mooney, who has scored above his season average (15.7 ppg) in two straight. Wake Forest is 1-5 ATS in its last six on Wednesdays. The Fighting Irish are 4-1-1 ATS in their lats six at home against opponents with losing road records and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five following a loss. Check back later for the line, but NOTRE DAME is likely the choice.

Over Under Pick

Wake Forest is not overly deep, so offense can be an issue at times. But this squad is not good on defense, either. In seven of the Deacs’ last 10 contests the winning side has scored at least 76 points. Notre Dame’s Prentiss Hubb has delivered at least 24 points in two of the past three outings. The over is 9-1-1 in the Demon Deacons’ last 11 overall and 6-0 in their last six following a loss. It is also 6-2 in the Fighting Irish’s last eight following a loss. The OVER is probably the way to go.
