Against the Spread Pick
The 2018-19 National Championship team ain’t walkin’ through that door in Charlottesville, but these Virginia Cavaliers are not entirely hopeless despite a mass exodus to the NBA. Although Virginia is inept on offense, it has done enough on that end of the court while continuing to be stingy on defense en route to consecutive victories over Florida State and Clemson. Thus some confidence is restored heading into Saturday’s date with the Louisville Cardinals. Five different UVA players have led the team in scoring over the past five outings (most recently Braxton Key with 19), showcasing at least some semblance of depth. Louisville was not particularly dominant during a 10-point victory over Wake Forest earlier this week. Nine points should be enough for VIRGINIA.
Over Under Pick
This is one of those games in which the ATS outcome will likely depend on the Over Under outcome, and vice versa. If Virginia covers, it will almost certainly be a low-scoring game that stays under. Should Louisville cover, you can feel pretty good about this one going over. Not only do the Cavaliers struggle to shoot the rock, but they also play at a slow-as-molasses pace. They held Florida State to 56 points last week and limited Clemson to 44 on Wednesday. Take the UNDER.
