Money Line Pick
Another game on the NHL card for Thursday will see a playoff contender take on a cellar dweller. We have the Canucks, who are comfortably in the playoff picture as of Wednesday and the Senators, who are the second worst team in the league. Ottawa have lost four games in a row, while the Canucks have won four of their last six. Vancouver are 8-3 in the last 11 games as a favorite and the Canucks are 2-6 in their last 8 games against the Western Conference and 4-13 in their last 17 home games. Again, I cannot back the Senators given how bad they have been, so I will be looking at the Canucks as a lean.
Over Under Pick
I like the total more in this game because of how Vancouver is scoring the puck. Just over the last five games, the Canucks are scoring 4 goals per game. Their defense is allowing 2.8 goals over the same stretch. The opposite can be said for Ottawa as they score just 2.6, but allow 3.8. The over is 6-1 in Vancouver’s last 7 games, 7-1 in their last 8 against the Eastern Conference and 3-0 in the last 3 head to head meetings. I look for Vancouver to continue their scoring onslaught and will take the over.
