Against the Spread Pick

The story of this season for the Memphis Tigers could be what might have been. Potential No. 1 overall pick James Wiseman stuck around for the first few games of his freshman campaign but then left before American Athletic Conference competition began. The result has been plenty of struggles for the Tigers, who are 3-4 in their last seven overall and 4-3 in the AAC. Although the UConn Huskies have dropped four of their past five contests, none of those losses have come by more than six points–and two were in overtime. UConn has not lost by more than six since Jan. 4. This team has not lost at home in regulation since Dec. 10 against Indiana. The Huskies are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five against opponents with winning records. Memphis is 2-5 ATS in its last seven against opponents with winning records. Six points should be enough for UCONN to cover.

Over Under Pick

Neither squad scores a ton of points. For UConn, Christian Vital (14.1 ppg) is the only player averaging in double-figures. Memphis is coming off a 59-57 win over UCF on on Wednesday. The under is 4-1 in the Huskies’ last five on the road and 8-3 in their last 11 against opponents with winning percentages over .600. It is also 4-1 in the Tigers’ last five overall and 4-0 in their last four against opponents with winning records. Expect this one to stay UNDER the total.
