Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings claims it’d be a”fitting story” if he made his England debut at St Mary’s after he was discharged by Southampton as an adolescent.
Mings was called up to the England senior team for the first time by manager Gareth Southgate week.
England play Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria at Wembley on Kosovo and also Saturday .
“I have thought about it,” Mings told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“There is not a lot that I haven’t thought of in relation to what could and could not happen. I really don’t have any grudges. I don’t hold any grudges within the choices they made because if I’m completely honest they were likely justified in the moment.
“I was not quite large enough, I was not quite physically improved enough to maybe cope with the demands of this match. It’ll be a fitting story if I made my debut at St Mary’s and arrived full circle.”
Mings included:”I really don’t think it would feel any more or less particular doing it at St Mary’s than it would anywhere else.”
