Money Line Pick
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be in the playoff mix in the Eastern Conference this season. Toronto is in 4th place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 25-17-7 and 57 points. However, before the All-Star break, the Maple Leafs went 1-2-2 and they’re on a current two-game losing streak, which includes a 2-6 loss against the Chicago Blackhawks. They will look to snap their losing streak when they travel to take on the Nashville Predators. Meanwhile, the Predators have been one of the most disappointing teams in the Western Conference. They sit in last place in the Central Division with a record of 22-18-7 and 51 points. Nashville ended their two-game winning streak following a 2-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres. Toronto has been playing better and is the better overall team, which is why I look for the Maple Leafs to come away with the win on Monday.
Over Under Pick
Both teams are two of the highest-scoring in the NHL this season. Toronto enters this game averaging the 5th-most goals per game with 3.59. Defensively, the Maple Leafs have allowed the 4th-most goals per game, but that is to be expected as they play at a fast pace. Meanwhile, the Predators are averaging the 7th-most goals per game with 3.32. However, they have been below-average defensively this season as they are allowing the 9th-most goals per game with 3.28. With both teams preferring to play at a fast pace, I look for the over 6.5 goals to be one of the better plays on Monday’s slate.
