Against the Spread Pick
These are not the same Texas Tech Red Raiders who reached the National Championship last year, but this is still a tale of two Big 12 programs going in opposite directions. Texas Tech is on the rise, whereas the Texas Longhorns are at best stuck in neutral. The Red Raiders are a respectable 5-4 in conference action this season and they defeated Oklahoma 69-61 earlier this week. Four different guys are averaging in double-figures, led by Jahmi’us Ramsey at 15.7 ppg. Texas has dropped four of its past six contests, falling below .500 in the Big 12. Texas Tech is 11-3 in its last 14 on Saturdays. The Longhorns are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 at home, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 against opponents with winning records, and 2-7 ATS in their last nine against opponents with winning percentages over .600. Look for the RED RAIDERS to take care of business.
Over Under Pick
Nobody on Texas is averaging more than 12.7 ppg (Matt Coleman III). This squad is turning the ball over more than 13 times per game and shooting 65.9 percent from the free-throw line. The under is 3-1-1 in the Red Raiders’ last five on the road against opponents with home winning percentages over .600. It is also 7-3 in the Longhorns’ last 10 overall, 4-1 in their last five at home, and 6-1 in their last seven against opponents with winning percentages over .600. Go with the UNDER.
