Against the Spread Pick
The Iowa State Cyclones are 1-2 straight up since star player Tyrese Haliburton went down with a season-ending wrist injury. It has been and will likely continue to be a struggle for the undermanned Cyclones, especially with the 2018-19 national runner-up Texas Tech Red Raiders paying a visit on Saturday. The Red Raiders have won four of their last games and two of their three losses since Jan. 21 have come at the hands of Kentucky and Kansas. It usually takes quite a lot to beat this squad. Four different players are scoring in double-figures, led by Jahmi’us Ramsey at 15.9 ppg. Texas Tech is 12-4 ATS in its last 16 on Saturdays. The Cyclones are 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall 0-5 ATS in their last five against opponents with winning percentages over .600, 2-12 ATS in their last 14 as underdogs, and 0-7 ATS in their last seven as home underdogs. The RED RAIDERS should take care of business without too much trouble.
Over Under Pick
In Iowa State’s past three outings, the winning team has scored at least 81 points–including more than 90 on two occasions. Michael Jacobson (7.3 ppg) has delivered 13 and 21 points in the two most recent contests, clearly making an effort to pick up the slack in Haliburton’s absence. The over is 6-2 in the Red Raiders’ last eight overall. It is also 4-0 in the Cyclones’ last four overall and 7-3 in their last 10 as home underdogs. Take the OVER.
