Against The Spread Pick
Texas is a team that looked dead and buried when it comes to NCAA Tournament participation just a couple of weeks ago. Since then the Longhorns have rattled off four wins in a row to get back into the bubble conversation, including an impressive couple of wins over No. 20 West Virginia and No. 22 Texas Tech. The winning run has meant that the Longhorns are a tasty 4-1 ATS in their last five games and that – plus their better play in general – means they are also 4-1 ATS in their last four contests on the road. This is a significant uptick for a team that is 13-16 ATS on the season. Oklahoma has also been a solid team ATS as of late despite the fact they are 13-15-1 ATS on the year. They are 6-3 ATS in their last nine games and they are 12-2 SU in their last 14 home games. The Sooners are also 6-1 SU in their last seven home games against Texas. I like the way Shaka Smart’s team is playing right now and fancy them to cover here.
Over Under Pick
Texas’ fortunes have turned around because their offense has been playing better. The Longhorns have seen the total go over in four of their last five games and they have been between 67 and 70 points in each of those victories. The defense has held up its end too, with the Longhorns limiting every team they have faced during their winning streak to fewer than 60 points. This is not a high total, but these are a pair of teams that know how to play defense. Oklahoma in particular will slow this game down and the under has prevailed in 12 of their last 17. The under also likes this matchup with eight of the last 12 meetings between these teams falling short of the total. It feels like this is another contest between the two rivals that will be aggressive, physical, and fall short of the scoring mark. Take the under.
