Against The Spread Pick

The Temple Owls are saddled with a season-long five-game losing streak as they try to pick up the pieces and get ready for the American Athletic Conference Tournament. Temple has won in regulation only once since Feb. 1. One of its recent overtime victories came at the expense of none other than the SMU Mustangs, but that was at home and the other head-to-head matchup resulted in 68-52 dominating by SMU back in January. The Mustangs have lost three straight of their own, but those setbacks came by a combined eight points. Tyson Jolley (14.5 ppg) is coming off a 17-point, 11-rebound performance during a 61-60 loss at South Florida this past Saturday. SMU is 13-6-1 ATS in its last 20 on Thursdays. It is also worth noting that the favorite is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings between the two teams. The MUSTANGS should be able to cover three points.

Over Under Pick

SMU has been playing low-scoring games left and right of late. Prior to its three-game skid, it defeated Memphis 58-53. No contest during the current losing streak has featured more than 128 points. Only two Temple players are averaging more than 8.4 ppg. The under is 4-1 in the Owls’ last five overall and 9-3 in their last 12 following an ATS win. It is also 4-0 in the Mustangs’ last four overall and 4-0 in their last four as favorites. Take the UNDER.
