Against The Spread Pick

The North Carolina Tar Heels still have a long way to go before potentially prolonging their 2019-20 campaign with an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament, but at least they have kept their chances alive. Fresh off three wins to end what was otherwise a disastrous regular season, the Tar Heels humiliated Virginia Tech 78-56 in round one of the ACC Tournament on Tuesday. Garrison Brooks (16.7 ppg) has scored at least 20 points in seven consecutive contests after going for 20 against the Hokies. The Syracuse Orange are a dreadful 4-7 in their past 11 outings and this stretch includes a 92-79 home loss to the Heels. North Carolina is 4-1 ATS in its last five overall, 9-3 ATS in its last 12 against opponents with winning records, and 7-1 ATS in its last eight following a win by more than 20 points. The Orange are 1-5 ATS in their last six against opponents with losing records and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four at neutral sites. Don’t be surprised if the TAR HEELS maintain momentum.

Over Under Pick

The winning team has scored at least 85 points each of North Carolina’s past four games. As usual, the Tar Heels are playing extremely fast–and both Brooks and Brandon Robinson have benefited. Robinson went for 17 points on Tuesday and is averaging 15.3 ppg in the past three outings. The over is 4-1 in the Tar Heels’ last five overall, 5-1 in their last six against opponents with winning records, and 5-2 in their last seven following a win. It is also 19-7-1 in the Orange’s last 27 overall and 8-0 in their last eight at neutral sites. Look for this one to go OVER the total.
