Can you feel you know which groups can meet in Super Bowl 54 in Miami, Florida? Due to a single internet sportsbook, you can place your money where your mouth is.
According to 5Dimes, the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints are the likeliest teams to bulge at the Super Bowl on February 2, 2020 at +2400 chances. The Patriots vs the Los Angeles Rams (+2750), the Rams vs the Kansas City Chiefs (+2825), the Chiefs vs the Saints (+2825) and a Super Bowl 52 rematch between the Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles (+2875) round out the top five at the store.
Considering that the Patriots would be the +700 faves to win the Super Bowl, it is no real surprise to see these so large in this respect. Tom Brady and business appear five times as the AFC representatives from the top 20 on the list — tied with all the Saints for the many appearances. At the Brady/Bill Belichick age, the Patriots have been to the Super Bowl nine days while winning it about six events.
The Rams’ first appearance in the big game since 2001 couldn’t have gone much worse, as L.A. struggled to get anything going in a 13-3 blow to the Patriots in February.
Still, the Rams have one of the brightest young coaches in the NFL in Sean McVay, a star running back in Todd Gurley, an emerging signal-caller in Jared Goff and a stacked defense headlined by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald. All the pieces to contact the championship game are there.
My choice to come from the AFC is unquestionably the Chiefs. A perennial contender at the conference, Kansas City needed a very different appearance in 2018 due to the explosion of Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes, who maintained the MVP Award for his leading effort, had one of the most remarkable seasons we have observed from a quarterback in recent memory and will be primed to shred defenses to the next decade-plus.
The 23-year-old gunslinger has a litany of weapons at his disposal, and Chiefs general manager patched up his leaky defense in the offseason by earning Steve Spagnuolo as the defensive coordinator and signing security Tyrann Mathieu along with cornerback Bashaud Breeland.
The Chiefs defense ranked 31st in the league last year with 6,488 yards allowed, but the unit will probably find a substantial improvement this year. Together with Mahomes lightning things up on offense and the defense shooting a jump, do not be surprised if Kansas City makes a Super Bowl run. Some of the Super Bowl matchups I enjoy value-wise are contrary to the Green Bay Packers (+4725) and Atlanta Falcons (+5850).
