Money Line Pick
The Boston Bruins hit the road for the final time before the NHL All-Star break, as they make a visit to PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The Penguins have really presented themselves as one of the best teams not only in the Metropolitan but also in the Eastern Conference. In what is their second meeting in the last three days, the Bruins will hope to have similar success as they were able to hold the Penguins to one goal. Pittsburgh has won five of its last six games. They will have a better shot this time around, as starting goalie Tristan Jarry is expected to be in the line-up. The Bruins have lost five straight times in their last five visits to PPG Paints Arena. Pittsburgh has been hard to beat at home, and that likely remains the story of this match-up. Taking the Penguins on the money line is a must.
Over Under Pick
Many would advise against an over in this match-up between the Bruins and Penguins. Yet both teams have had pretty strong offensive units all season. Boston behind the strong seasons of David Pasternak and Brad Marchand have helped put Boston in the driver seat in the Atlantic Division. Pittsburgh like Boston has been a really explosive scoring team. With Tristan Jarry back in net, the Penguins could have a chance to slow down the Bruins. He is only allowing 2.12 goals per game, yet two of the last three meetings have finished with six goal-totals. Both teams are proven scorers, but even with some of the top scorers in the league, it isn’t likely that they will be able to combine for more than six goals. Taking the under six with confidence is the right call.
