STL Blues Point Spread

Under 5.5 Game Totals

Money Line Pick

The All-Star Break is over which means it is time for the home stretch of this NHL season. The Blues are sitting comfortably in the top spot of the Central Division. They are of course looking to defend their Stanley Cup Title this season. However, it is worth noting they went into the break on a two-game losing streak. The Canucks on the other hand, are also on top of their division, but by just the smallest of margins. Vancouver is an extremely good home team, posting a record of 16-5-3 through the first half of the season. Although, these teams have met twice this year already with the away side winning each time. The Blues are 10-4 against Vancouver in the last 14 meetings and I believe with the break they will be looking to bounce back from some recent struggles. That being said, I will look for the Blues dominance over the Canucks to continue and I like the away team to grab the win here as a small lean.

Over Under Pick

The total in this game is 5.5 and it is one I would probably stay away from. We have two teams, both averaging 3.2 goals per game this season. Their defenses are almost identical, both allowing between 2.67-3.02 goals per game. The tricky part is assessing what these teams have done recently compared to the rest of the season. The Blues are scoring 4 goals per game over their last five an allowing 2.6. For Vancouver, they are averaging 3.4 goals, but giving up just 2. So we really do not know how these teams are going to come out after a short break and play. Trends would say the under is the play here as it is 32-15-9 in the last 56 head to head meetings. I would be reluctant to play this total, but the under is where I would lean.
