Money Line Pick
This Friday NHL match-up will see two legit playoff contenders face-off. Note that the Blues will have played on Thursday night so this will be the second night of a back to back. Not counting Thursday’s result, the Blues have won just one of their last six games. On the other side, the Stars might be one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Dallas have won five of their last six games and just recently beat Arizona 3-2. The Stars will have a small rest advantage because they will not play on Thursday as well. Also, Dallas is one of the best home teams in the NHL, posting a record of 18-9-2. Because they will have fresher legs, I lean Dallas to continue winning at home.
Over Under Pick
Dallas is a team that is proving offense does not always have to be be elite. The Stars are averaging just 2.7 goals per game, but are allowing 2.52. In home games, Dallas allows 2.17 goals per game, so it is their defense that is elite. Also, keep in mind that the under is 20-7 in 27 home games for the Stars this season. St. Louis have played 8 back to back games this season and are allowing 3.25 goals per game in the second night of those games. Look for the tired legs of the Blues to lead to some Dallas goals, but the Stars defense to shut down St. Louis and keep this total under.
