Against The Spread Pick

The Big East tournament will tip-off Wednesday night with a match-up between the 8th and 9th seeds. Both teams went 5-13 in the conference, so not exactly great seasons to say the least. Georgetown is really playing terribly at the moment, losing their last six games in a row to end the season. The Red Storm won their final game against Marquette, so they probably will be feeling like they can make a run here. That said, the Red Storm lost to Georgetown twice this season. Even knowing that, two of the top guys for Georgetown are out indefinitely. Those being Omer Yurtseven and Mac McClung. Without these guys, I really cannot see the Hoyas hanging around. I do not love this play, but I would lean St. John’s here

Over Under Pick

The total is also one that I do not really want to be involved in. Both defenses cannot be trusted, each allowing an average of 77 to 78 points per game over their last five. That being said, the offenses (especially for Georgetown) are not playing well at all right now. The Hoyas are only averaging about 70 points over their last five games, and while the Red Storm are inconsistent, they just had a game where they scored 88 points. Usually for an over to hit, you need both teams to generate points, and frankly, I do not believe the Hoyas can do that with the injuries they have. For that reason, I will lean to the under.
