St Helens scored 24 points in each half as they wrapped up their residence Super League campaign with a comfortable 48-6 win over Huddersfield in style in the Totally Wicked Stadium.
In-form prop Luke Thompson obtained a brace while Lachlan Coote had a great night with the boot, kicking eight goals in as many attempts.
The success guaranteed that the League Leaders Shield winners finished the season without losing a game an ominous listing which can give them confidence ahead of their play-offs, on home soil.
When Saints proceeded to win the Grand Final the previous time they achieved such a feat has been in 2002. However, Huddersfield stay at risk of dropping to the Championship.
A week back, Saints were included in the lowest scoring match in Super League history – a 4-0 triumph over Castleford.
However, it required Justin Holbrook’s side just three minutes to surpass that Thompson racing into the tryline after a great pass by his fellow, score prop Alex Walmsley. Coote, month playing for the first time to Warrington, added the conversion.

With three moments of their half a break out of Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook divide the Huddersfield defence wide open and his pass Morgan Knowles off for a try that Coot goaled to get a 24-0 interval lead which didn’t flatter the home side.

Thompson maintained his second attempt before Lomax additional Saints’ with 10 minutes remaining. Coote again transformed as Huddersfield completed well beaten.
The scoring was completed by tommy Makinson after shooting a pass from Grace Coote again adding the extras, at the dying minutes.
