Against the Spread Pick
The San Antonio Spurs are beginning their Rodeo Road Trip at the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. Fatigue could set in soon, but for now the Spurs are all-wested with one day of rest and having played four of their past five at the AT&T Center–where they do not play again until Feb. 26 because of the San Antonio Rodeo. Los Angeles leads the head-to-head this season 2-1, but one of the Spurs’ losses came by just six points and they won by 10 at home in late November. They are coming off consecutive victories over Utah and Charlotte. DeMar DeRozan has led the team in scoring five straight times and has delivered at least 30 on three occasions during this stretch. San Antonio is 6-2 ATS in its last eight overall, 9-2-1 ATS in its last 12 on the road, and 6-2 ATS in its last eight against opponents with winning records. The Clippers are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 following a win. Ten points should be enough for the SPURS to cover.
Over Under Pick
LaMarcus Aldridge’s last three point totals are 16, 10, and eight. Those are alarming numbers for San Antonio’s veteran forward. The losing team in five of L.A.’s past six contests has scored no more than 107 points. The under is 4-1 in the Spurs’ last five against opponents with winning percentages over .600 and 7-2 in their last nine on the road against opponents with home winning percentages over .600. It is also 5-2-1 in the Clippers’ last eight following a win. Look for this one to stay UNDER the total.
