Anthony Joshua has stated”sometimes the individuals that are chilled and calm might bark” concerning the laidback Andy Ruiz Jr, who rates as”the greatest heavyweight out there”.
Joshua and Ruiz Jr went face to face in London because their three-day media tour reasoned, meaning preparation may ramp up live.
Asked about being a challenger into the entire world heavyweight championships, Joshua stated:”it is a great mindset to own and you can not lose this. The moment you’ve got to retire. You have got to be starving.
“I had a blip. We go. I’m not shy. No fear.”
Joshua said about his upcoming opponent who took his own IBF, WBA and WBO belts earlier this season:”Ruiz Jr is calm but he could battle. He’s not.
“Sometimes the ones that are calm and chilled may bark back, and can definitely fight.”
He also put his stoppage defeat down to the minute when he tried to complete Ruiz Jr off having knocked him down, only to endure a concussive punch which amuses the beginning of the end.
“There is not any need to hurry,” Joshua explained about how he’ll approach the rematch. “Until the beef is 100 percent cooked, do not take it out of the oven. I moved to take it out of the oven and I have burnt. I have to wait till it is ready then go in for the kill. In the previous struggle, he wasn’t prepared and that was an error on my part.
“I shall find the titles back and be honored as the top earners at the division.”
His own willingness to resist the top contenders in a dig was pointed into by joshua.
“Wladimir Klitschko? Champion. Joseph Parker? Champion. Alexander Povetkin? Champion,” he explained. “Now I am fighting another champion in Andy Ruiz.
“My challenges and my struggles are never cherry-picking. They are the elite among the elite.
“Today, in my opinion, Andy Ruiz is the best heavyweight out there.
“Everybody knows it was important to overlook fighters because we wanted the struggle with the WBC winner [Deontay Wilder]. But I do not need to overlook Ruiz Jr..
“I’ll walk into the ringprobably hurry to the ring this time, crack my throat and clench my fists, and if that bell moves we’re going to get down and dirty and manage business.”
Ruiz Jr stated:”I still have that appetite. I got these belts. You think I need to lose them ? Hell no.
“I look heavy, I look big, but I always had the mindset that I would be the first Mexican heavyweight winner”
Ruiz Jr was likened to Mexican legends by his coach Manny Robles:”I compared Andy into Julio Cesar Chavez, Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales stylistically. You don’t struggle with fighters that could fight with this manner, like Andy does.
“Andy was the perfect style to give Joshua a excellent fight.
“Joshua had never faced anyone like Andy. Many of you agree with me now.
“Most fighters become better when they taste beat. You win or you understand. I am sure Joshua will know.
“What does he have to lose? He does not have to be worried about that undefeated record. Before confronting Joshua andy had tasted overcome and he understood what that felt like. He discovered and became a fighter that was much better. He’d nothing to lose and everything to win”
