Against the Spread Pick
The George Washington Colonials are 2-4 in their last six games and they have not won at home since Jan. 29. In fact, they have not won at home in regulation since Jan. 25 (their most recent victory inside their own gym required quadruple-overtime against Davidson). Nobody on the team is averaging more than 14.7 points per game (Armel Potter). Amir Harris does a little bit of everything (5.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.4 apg., 1.4 bpg) and is questionable due to an undisclosed issue. Although the Richmond Spiders are coming off a 75-71 setback at St. Bonaventure this past weekend, they had previously won five in a row. Blake Francis went for 23 points in the most recent outing, raising his average to 17.3 ppg. The Spiders are 6-2 ATS in their last eight as favorites and 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss. It is also worth noting that the favorite is 5-0-1 ATS in the last six meetings between the two teams. RICHMOND is the way to go.
Over Under Pick
Only 130 points were scored in the previous head-to-head matchup, a 76-54 Richmond route on Feb. 1. Such defensive dominance is nothing new for the Spiders. During their recent five-game winning streak, no opponent reached the 60-point mark. The under is 18-7-1 in the Spiders’ last 26 overall and 19-7 in their last 26 as favorites. It is also 5-1 in the Colonials’ last six overall, 4-0 in their last four against opponents with winning percentages over .600, and 4-1 in their last five as underdogs. Look for this one to stay UNDER the total.
