Against The Spread Pick

Another big game for the Big East will see the Providence Friars take on the Georgetown Hoyas. Both of these teams got huge wins last time out with the Friars upsetting Seton Hall at home and the Hoyas going on the road to beat Butler. As of right now, the Hoyas are projected to be one of the “Last Four In.” This projection comes from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi. Providence is certainly improving their resume and are now projected as one of the “Next Four Out.” The biggest concern for the Hoyas is the status of Omer Yurtseven and Mac McClung. They are both questionable for this game. The good news is the Hoyas won that game at Butler without either of them, so even if they cannot play, Georgetown should be in good shape. Note that Goergetown is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games, compared to the Friars, who are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 away games. Because those two guys could be out for the Hoyas, it is only a small lean to Georgetown here.

Over Under Pick

This is a hard total to break down because these teams have been somewhat inconsistent. Especially the Friars, who average 70.2 points per game this season, but only 66.7 points when on the road. Then there is Georgetown. The Hoyas average 76.6 points overall and 79.9 points in home games. They have recently played to the over in three straight games, all of which saw Mac McClung having to sit out, so the scoring is still there. The Friars’ defense has somewhat lacking on the road this season, where they allow 72 points. Even though two Georgetown players might have to sit out, I still lean to the over. This is however, a total I would not consider betting until the status of Yurtseven and McClung are released.
