Against the Spread Pick
The Indiana Hoosiers lost at the Penn State Nittany Lions earlier this season, but home-court advantage could once again be a decisive factor on Sunday. Indiana is a dreadful 2-6 on the road, but it is sporting an impressive 13-3 record inside Assembly Hall–and one of those setbacks has come by just one point at the hands of Big Ten-leading Maryland. Trayce Jackson-Davis exploded for 27 points and 16 rebounds during Wednesday’s 68-56 victory over Minnesota. Penn State is coming off a 62-56 loss to Illinois on Tuesday. The Nittany Lions feature only two players averaging in double-figures and one of them (Myreon Jones) is questionable due to illness. The Hoosiers are 4-1 ATS in their last five at home against opponents with winning road records. Expect INDIANA to get revenge for its loss in the previous head-to-head matchup.
Over Under Pick
Jones, who is averaging 14.1 ppg, would be a big loss for Penn State on the offensive end. Even if he suits up, there is still a great chance that this will be a low-scoring affair–just like the previous meeting between these two conference rivals (113 total points scored on Jan. 29). The under 6-2 in the Nittany Lions’ last eight overall and 4-0 in their last four against opponents with winning percentages over .600. It is also 9-3 in the Hoosiers’ last 12 against opponents with winning percentages under .600, 10-4 in their last 14 at home against opponents with winning road records, and 5-2 in their last seven following a win. Back the UNDER with plenty of confidence.
