Money Line Pick
A pair of teams just trying to stay afloat take to the ice at Bell MTS Place, as the Senators and Jets go to battle. Ottawa enters this match-up on a current four-game losing streak. Winnipeg is coming off arguably its best stretch with two wins in its last three games. Both victories came against the defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues. Playing home hasn’t been very kind for the Jets this season. This game could go a long way for Winnipeg as it opens up a six-game homestand, and the points from a win will prove beneficial. Ottawa has just two wins in their last 16 games. Ottawa has had the Jets number winning two of the last three meetings. Not to mention they are 7-2 in their last nine visits to Bell MTS Place. It’s a tough call, given their struggles, but backing the Senators on the Money Line is the right play.
Over Under Pick
Ottawa and Winnipeg are both less than successful in the goal-scoring category. With both teams averaging well less than three goals on the season, it’s hard to imagine that either can reach the level they have been known to reach when they meet head-to-head. In each of the last three games between the Senators and Jets, at least seven total goals have been scored. Ottawa has scored at least four goals in each of those three games. This season’s averages for both teams don’t favor a shot at a six goal-total, but backing the over has the right amount of value to have on your ticket.
