Against the Spread Pick
The Magic broke a four-game losing streak by beating Charlotte in their last meeting. The Hornets are not good and they found some offense, scoring 112 points, well above their season average. Even though the Knicks are easily one of the worst teams in the league it does not help that the Magic are in Boston the night before. On zero days rest, away to away like this is, they are 0-3 on the year. After back to back road wins the Knicks will look to continue their good fortune at home. There are five players on the injury report with illness next to their name. That leaves things a little hazy as to who suits up and plays but it does look like rookie RJ Barrett will be in the lineup. He has been a disappointment but still useful this season. The lack of depth hurts them against what could be a sluggish Orlando team. The Magic gut it out.
Over Under Pick
New York does not have a lot of reliable scorers but Marcus Morris has been one of them. He is not likely to play in this one, which hurts their chances. Plus there is a great chance Julius Randle gets traded and that is unlikely to improve the team in the short term. Throw in the Magic’s struggles to score and tired legs and this one looks like an easy under. I am not sure either team gets to 95.
