Against the Spread Pick

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been one of the most surprising teams in basketball this season–especially of late–and they will try to keep their hot streak going when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Friday. Oklahoma City is 29-20 overall, surging toward an improbable playoff berth thanks in part to a 6-1 record in its last seven games. Chris Paul got an all-star nod earlier this week, and deservedly so; he is averaging 17.1 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per contest while being the veteran leader of a massively overachieving squad. OKC hasn’t lost to an opponent that currently has a winning record since way back on Dec. 11. The Suns, on the other hand, are toiling away at 20-27. Oklahoma City is 35-17 ATS in its last 52 overall, 20-6 ATS in its last 26 on the road, and 19-6 ATS in its last 25 against opponents with losing records. The Suns are 0-6 ATS in their last six at home and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five playing on two days of rest. Back the THUNDER and do so with confidence.

Over Under Pick

You know Phoenix guard Devin Booker is going to play some inspired basketball on the offensive end of the floor after getting snubbed from the Western Conference all-star roster. Booker is already playing well going into Friday, with at least 32 points in five of the past six outings. The over is 8-3 in the Thunder’s last 11 overall and 7-2 in their last nine playing on one day of rest. It is also 5-2 in the Suns’ last seven playing on two days of rest. Go with the OVER.
