Against the Spread Pick
The Milwaukee Panthers are getting only 5.5 points mainly because they are playing at home, but will 5.5 points be enough? Probably not, as it’s not like the Panthers are overly dominant in their own friendly confines. They are just 7-4 straight up at home this season, including 3-3 in their past six games. On Friday, Milwaukee fell to visiting Wright State 65-61. It is true that Wright State leads the Horizon League, but the Northern Kentucky Norse are right behind in second place. This is another tough one for the Panthers; Northern Kentucky is 6-1 in its past seven contests and 4-1 in its past five overall, falling only at Wright State during this stretch. Tyler Sharpe has exceeded his scoring average (16.0 ppg) in four of the last five and he pinned 31 on Milwaukee in his team’s head-to-head win earlier this season. NORTHERN KENTUCKY should be able to cover a -5.5 spread.
Over Under Pick
During this hot stretch, Sharpe has poured in 33 points on two occasions. He is getting plenty of help, too, as three different guys have led the Norse in scoring over the past three outings. Four players are averaging in double-figures and another (Bryson Logan) is not far behind at 9.2 ppg. The winning team in three of Northern Kentucky’s last five games has scored at least 88 points. Look for this one to go OVER the total.
