New York Rangers

Minnesota Wild

MIN Wild Point Spread

Under 6.0 Game Totals

Money Line Pick

Thanks to a recent 7-3 stretch, the Minnesota Wild are back in the playoff picture. They sit just 4 points behind the Arizona Coyotes for the final spot in the West and a win would likely inch them even closer. On the other side, the Rangers are playing decent hockey at best, going 6-4 over their last 10. This still has them outside the playoffs, trailing the Philadelphia Flyers by 9 points. They will need a lot more than just a win here, but every game will be important to them now. Minnesota is actually a top team at home this season, posting a record of 17-8-4. The Rangers have had enough road woes this season for me to be weary of backing them. That being said, I will take the home team here as a lean.

Over Under Pick

This is a total that I really do not like as it is hard to determine which defense will show up (for both sides). Overall, both defenses have allowed more than 3 goals per game. However, over the last five games, the Wild have allowed 1.8 goals per contest and the Rangers are giving up just 2.6. On the flip side, the offenses have both been lights out, averaging at least 3.2 during the same stretch. Note that the under is 6-1-3 in Minnesota’s last 10 games as a favorite. The Wild are playing at home, where they are 14-11 to the under and that would be my lean here if I was going to bet it.
