Money Line Pick
The New York Rangers have really pick-up some momentum, and they will need it to carry over as the visit PNC Arena to face the sliding Hurricanes. Carolina has lost two of its last four games and has fallen to a three-way tie at 72 points and with another loss could fall outside a playoff spot. The Rangers have won five of their last six games. The Hurricanes have lost five of the last six head-to-head meetings against New York. Carolina has had a hard time defending their home ice, especially when hosting the Rangers, who have won four of their last five visits. Carolina is having too many issues to back with any confidence, therefore take New York on the money line.
Over Under Pick
Both the Rangers and Hurricanes currently average over three goals per game, with both top 10 in the NHL in that category. The Rangers exploded for six goals in their very convincing road win at Chicago. Carolina is coming off a four-goal performance in their win over Nashville. New York has been plenty explosive, but they have also shut down the opposing team, with five of their last seven games resulting in under totals. With such a high 6.5 total, taking the under is the right move.
