Against the Spread Pick
I can’t imagine the Knicks foresaw a backcourt of Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock when the season began but that is what they were starting in their last game. RJ Barrett is still hurt and even with him, they were not getting much from the 1, 2 or 3 spots on the floor. They have three playable power forwards and an emerging center in Mitchell Robinson but this team is a mess, especially so against a team with an actual plan like Indiana. Victor Oladipo might be back but Myles Turner might not play in this one. Damontas Sabonis is going to the All-Star game but one of the reasons he is so effective is having Turner take opponents out to the perimeter on offense and sharing some of the burden inside on D. With Oladipo now available, the perimeter for the Pacers suddenly looks very dangerous. TJ Warren and Malcolm Brogdon are having really strong seasons and Jeremy Lamb has always been a clutch shot-maker. Take Indiana at home.
Over Under Pick
Turner hurts them a little offensively but more defensively. His absences makes it a little easier for them to focus on getting Oladipo more integrated though so look for a sharp offensive performance for Indiana. They are going to overwhelm New York on the outside and trade a lot of threes for twos. Take the over here.
