Puck Line Pick
Both the Islanders and Capitals are coming off uncharacteristic losses, that kind of puts them back to the drawing board. For New York, their issues came against a red-hot Tampa Bay team, while Washington laid an egg against Philadelphia. The Capitals have now lost three of their last five games. New York is 3-2 in its last five games. Washington has performed better than New York in their last nine head-to-head meetings, with the Capitals winning six of those match-ups. When the teams last faced-off at Capital One Arena, New York had everything go right that night, as the Islanders escaped with a nice 4-3 win. They have a real chance to replicate the results of that match-up. However, the Capitals will be angry, and with this game being at Capital One Arena taking the Caps on the puck line is the right call.
Over Under Pick
Nine of the Islanders’ last 10 games have resulted in at least four total goals. Not only that but seven of those games have had at least six-goal totals. Washington is coming off a less than stellar performance on their part, but they did have a hand in a really high scoring total. The Capitals went down 7-2 against the Flyers, but that nine-goal total was the seventh Capitals game in a row to finish with at least six-total goals. Baring that in mind taking an over six-goal total with high confidence is a must.
