Puck Line Pick
A must-see match-up takes to the ice at Amalie Arena, as the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning face-off. New York is coming off a strong stretch winning three of its last four games. Tampa Bay continues to light up the scoreboard en route to five consecutive victories. The Lightning may hold the better record across the last 10 head-to-head meetings, but that has slowed the Islanders from winning two of the last three. New York is only 4-11 in its last 15 games against Tampa Bay. The Lightning has won each of their last eight home games. New York has won the first two meetings this season, including at Amalie in an ugly showing by Tampa Bay. It will be tough to tame again. Which is why taking Tampa Bay on the puck line is the right play.
Over Under Pick
New York has had plenty of flashy offensive performances this season, but they have also had games where they were less than spectacular. That hasn’t stopped them from performing strongly against Tampa Bay in their first two head-to-head meetings this season. The Islanders scored five goals in each of those two games. For Tampa Bay, they have scored a combined three goals in those same games. Not the type of showing the Lightning will want to replicate. Tampa has scored at least four goals in four of its last five games. Adding it all up a play on an over six-goal total is the right call to make.
