Against The Spread Pick
This will be the second game of a back-to-back situation for the Indiana Pacers. Although the Pacers had won four in a row heading into Sunday’s date with Denver, they cannot be overly enthused about the prospect of a current five-game road trip (Monday’s meeting wit the Nuggets was the opener of this trek). The Utah Jazz are perhaps the hottest team in all of basketball, sporting a 16-2 record in their past 18 contests. Joe Ingles has thrived in Mike Conley’s absence and during this same stretch of 18 contests he has reached double-figures on 16 occasions. Rudy Gobert, who is a force on both ends of the floor, should be able to contain T.J. Warren and Domantas Sabonis. Indiana is 6-14-1 ATS in its last 21 on the road against opponents with home winning percentages over .600.
Over Under Pick
The winning team has scored at least 113 points in 12 of Indiana’s past 14 contests. Four different players have led the team in scoring the past four games and three are contributing at least 17.7 ppg (Domantas Sabonis, T.J. Warren, and Malcolm Brogdon). Donavan Mitchell (26.0 ppg) poured in 46 points on Thursday in Utah’s 138-132 overtime setback against New Orleans. The over is 9-3 in the Pacers’ last 12 overall and 5-1 in their last six on the road. Go with the OVER.
