Against the Spread Pick
The South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to remain above .500 in the SEC (currently 4-3). South Carolina has not lost at home since Jan. 7 (to Florida) and they are coming off consecutive victories over Vanderbilt and Arkansas. In each their four victories during a current 4-1 stretch, the ‘Cocks have scored at least 79 points. The Missouri Tigers, meanwhile, have not won a road game since Dec. 7 (at Temple). Missouri had lost four in a row prior to Tuesday’s victory over Georgia in which it trailed by 20 points with 13 minutes remaining. Nobody on the squad is averaging more than 11.8 points per game. SOUTH CAROLINA should cover a -4.5 spread without much trouble.
Over Under Pick
Four different players have led South Carolina in scoring over the past four contests. More evidence of the Gamecocks’ depth is the fact that 11 guys are logging double-digit minutes per game. They can recycle players one after another, remain fresh, and run for a full 40 minutes with no problem. For Missouri, Dru Smith (11.8 ppg) has scored at least 16 points in three of the past four outings. Take the OVER.
