Puck Line Pick
This Friday night match-up will see the Minnesota Wild take on the Dallas Stars. Minnesota are having a below average season at best, but only trail Calgary by 6 points in the Western Conference playoffs. On the other side, Dallas is tied for the second best team in the West with 65 points. Both teams are playing average hockey right now, going 3-2 in their last five. However, the small edge here goes to Dallas because they are 16-8-2 in home games compared to Minnesota, who is 9-15-2 away from home. Also, note that Minnesota has almost no success when playing in Dallas, going 8-29 in their last 37 meetings. That being said, I like the Stars to win this game on the puck line.
Over Under Pick
We have two pretty lackluster offenses here with Minnesota averaging 3.1 goals and Dallas averaging 2.6. However, the offenses for both sides have been very explosive over their last five games. Each averaging 3.4 or more goals during this stretch. The over is 6-2 in Minnesota’s last 8 road games. The over is also 2-0-1 in the last three meetings (all of which happened this season). This total is too low at 5 and I look for the over to cash.
