Michigan State

Illinois +1.5 Point Spread

Under 141.5 Game Totals

Against The Spread Pick

What a difference a couple of weeks make, as both the Spartans and the Illini have had a rough stretch of games, and have fallen out of the lead in the Big Ten. The road hasn’t been kind at all for Michigan State, and they have lost three-straight games, and are at a bit of a crossroad, as they head out on the road again. Illinois has lost two straight games, including in their duel against Maryland for the Big Ten lead, last Friday. Michigan State holds a better record in the last 10 head-to-head meetings, but their last couple of trips to State Farm Center have been less than spectacular. Illinois has won two of the last three games at home, but they have all been decided by 13-points or fewer. Two of those three games were decided by five points or less. Which fits the 1.5 point spread for this match-up. Taking the Illini at home to cover is a must.

Over Under Pick

The Spartans and Illini combined for a 132-point total in their meeting in East Lansing earlier this season. Which marked the first head-to-head meeting that had a total under 140 points since January 2016, in a Spartans 79-54 victory in Champaign. Four of the last five head-to-head meetings have resulted in over 140-point totals. But with the Spartans real troubles to be consistent on the road, and the Illini’s recent stretch of 66 points or less production in four-straight games, makes taking an under 141.5 total the perfect play.
