Against the Spread Pick
Both the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies are banged up heading into Wednesday’s showdown in Dallas. Luka Doncic is out for the Mavericks, while Jonas Valanciunas is questionable for the Grizzlies. Fortunately for Dallas, it already has plenty of experience playing without Doncic due to this recurring ankle issue. The Grizzlies have clearly been distracted by Andre Iguodala’s absence, as Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks have taken to social media to voice their displeasure–even getting into a borderline spat with former Iguodala teammate Stephen Curry. Although Morant and company are playing decent ball at the moment, they have not scored a road win over a team with a winning record since beating the Clippers on Jan. 4. Memphis is 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings between the two teams. The Mavericks are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven overall, 4-0-1 ATS in their last five playing on one day of rest, and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine as favorites. DALLAS will likely take care of business.
Over Under Pick
Doncic’s injury obviously won’t help Dallas’ efforts for a scoring binge on Wednesday. Kristaps Porzingis is the only other team member averaging more than 14.2 points per game. Memphis is coming off a 96-82 victory over Detroit on Monday. The under is 8-3 in the Grizzlies’ last 11 overall, 5-2 in their last seven playing on one day of rest, and 6-2 in their last eight following a win. Go with the UNDER.
