Against The Spread Pick
The fourth and last quarterfinal of the Big East tournament will see the Marquette Golden Eagles take on the Seton Hall Pirates. This will be another battle between two of the best guards in the country. That being Markus Howard for Marquette and Myles Powell for Seton Hall. Seton Hall got the better of Marquette in both games this season, so the Golden Eagles are looking to avoid losing a third time to the same team. It does not help that Marquette have lost 6 out of their last 7 games and are really struggling right now. Meanwhile, Seton Hall are not exactly playing their best basketball either, losing their last two games in a row to end the season. As much as I like what Markus Howard brings to the table, I believe Seton Hall is the team with more play-makers, so I look for them to take care of business.
Over Under Pick
With two explosive offenses, you would probably expect that this total is going to fly over even at what it is set at. However, playing in a different environment and on a neutral floor can cause teams to come out timid, especially knowing it is a must win if they want to advance. In two meetings this season, we saw one under and one over. The under is 6-2 in Marquette’s last 8 neutral site games, and I believe the defenses are going to play a much bigger role with this being the third meeting. By no means do I have a strong opinion on this total, but I would lean to the under here at the very least.
