Los Angeles Kings

New York Rangers

NY Rangers -1.5 Point Spread

Under 6.0 Game Totals

Puck Line Pick

One of the more lackluster games on the Sunday NHL slate will see the Los Angeles Kings take on the New York Rangers. The Kings are playing about as bad as you can, winning just two of their last eight games. They also have not won in the month of February (3 games), so it is safe to say that they are well out of contention for the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Rangers are not exactly having a season to brag about, having just lost to the lowly Buffalo Sabres. New York is 9 points behind the Carolina Hurricanes entering Sunday. That makes this a must win game since they will be playing a poor opponent. The biggest issue in this game is that the Kings stink on the road. With a record of 8-19-4 away from home, they are not a team I want to back. Not that the Rangers are some great home team, but I lean their way to bounce back and pick up an easy win.

Over Under Pick

Much like the side, this is not a total I really want to bet on. Los Angeles is a horrible offensive team, averaging just 2.5 goals per game. Their defense is just as bad, allowing 3.16 goals. Over their last five in particular, they are only scoring 2.2 goals, while giving up 3.6. New York has been better defensively as of late, allowing 2.6 over their last five. Again, not a game I want to play, but because the Rangers are playing better defense, I would have to lean to the under.
