Against the Spread Pick
There is a reason why the Iowa State Cyclones are getting 10.5 points against the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday: star sophomore Tyrese Haliburton suffered a fractured wrist this past weekend and is out for the season. Will Haliburton’s absence combined with home-court advantage for the Sooners make for a 24-point different from the previous meeting? That is the question that must be asked following the Cyclones’ 81-68 dominance at home exactly one month ago. Oklahoma followed that up with a setback against Kansas and from there has alternated losses and wins the whole way. In other words, this squad is inconsistent at best. Oklahoma is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 at home, 0-5 ATS in its last five against opponents with losing records, and 3-9 ATS in its last 12 following a win. Getting more than 10 points should be enough or IOWA STATE.
Over Under Pick
The losing team has scored in the 60s in six of Oklahoma’s past eight outings. Other than Haliburton, Iowa State features only one player averaging double-figures (Rasir Bolton at 15.3 ppg). The under is 10-4 in the Cyclones’ last 14 against opponents with winning records and 4-1 in their last five following a win. It is also 5-1 in the Sooners’ last six overall, 9-4 in their last 13 at home, and 6-0 in their last six following a win. Go with the UNDER.
