Lakers ATS Point Spread

Against the Spread Pick

How many players–real contributors, at least–will the Houston Rockets be able to dress on Thursday. Russell Westbrook (thumb) is questionable when his team visits the Los Angeles Lakers and Clint Capela is out due to a pending trade with Atlanta. All of that is why the odds for this one were still off as of late Wednesday night. The Lakers are coming off consecutive victories over Sacramento and Portland to get their mind back on basketball. LeBron James produced 36 points at the Trail Blazers’ expense. The Rockets are 2-7 ATS in their last nine on the road and 2-5 ATS in their last seven against opponents with winning records. Los Angeles is 5-2 ATS in its last seven after scoring at least 125 points in its previous outing and 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings between the two teams. It’s hard to see Houston getting enough points here, so the LAKERS are probably the way to go.

Over Under Pick

Los Angeles poured in 129 points against both the Kings and the Trail Blazers. Houston is giving up more than 114 points per contest, although it is scoring 118.8 ppg–good for second most in the entire NBA and most in the Western Conference. The over is 5-2 in the Rockets’ last seven overall and 9-0 in their last nine against opponents with winning records. It is also 10-2 in the Lakers’ last 12 overall and 4-0 in their last four at home. Additionally, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings between the two trams. Lean toward the OVER.
