Columbia +7.5 Point Spread

Over 140 Game Totals

Against The Spread Picks

Harvard comes into this one needing to extend their win-streak. The Crimson are currently in a tie for second in the Ivy Conference only one game out of first place. They have been playing great basketball and should be able to handle a weak Columbia team who sits dead last in conference and is on a nine game losing streak. The Crimson offense shoots a really good 45.8 percent from the field while averaging 73 points per game. While the Crimson have been winning they never seem to blow anyone out with their average margin of victory in their last four wins being by only 7.7 points. This is probably due to Harvard’s inconsistency at the charity stripe.  Columbia was able to keep it within four on the road last matchup, so I expect the same despite their bad defense. Harvard is only 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against Columbia. Take Columbia with the points.

Over Under Pick

As mentioned above, Harvard can shoot the ball well. However, Harvard not being able to ever truly put teams away means that the total gets drove up. The over has hit in eight of the Crimson’s last 12 games and four times in Columbia’s last six. In these two team’s last six games the over has hit. Harvard’s offense gets even better on the road where they shoot over 46 percent from the field and average 73.8 points. Columbias defense is equally as porous at home as it is on the road, but they play better offense at home. I am going to be playing the over in this one.
