Against the Spread Pick
The Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix have won three of their last four games and two of their last three on the road as they continue a five-game trip at the Detroit Titans on Friday. Wisconsin-Green Bay is a solid 8-6 in the Horizon League, whereas Detroit is a woeful 4-10. The Phoenix are coming off a 14-point victory over in-state rival Wisconsin-Milwaukee last weekend, when Amari Davis went for 28 points. Davis has led his team in scoring on four of the past five occasions and he is averaging 16.3 ppg. Detroit is currently saddled with a horrendous five-game winning streak, the last two of which have come at home. Sure this squad is worse on the road (1-13) than at home (4-7), but that home record will do nothing to scare the Phoenix. Go with WISCONSIN-GREEN BAY and don’t bother with the one point.
Money Line Pick
Davis and JayQuan McCloud are not getting a ton of help from Phoenix teammates. Only one other player (Kameron Hankerson at 10.7 ppg) is averaging in double-figures. Detroit is averaging just 67.8 ppg in its past three outings. The previous meeting between these two teams on Jan. 18 resulted in an 83-80 win for the Phoenix. That is right on the current number, and it’s hard to take the over with such a lofty total. Lean toward the UNDER.
