Against the Spread Pick
The Warriors have just one win in January. It is easy to understand but still a little hard to wrap your head around how quickly the team has fallen apart. With the injuries they have, they are basically reduced to two reliable NBA players, Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell. Russell can be an effective gunner but Green is lost in a role without other top players around him. It all makes sense but it is still hard to think Warriors and fade, night after night. A visit from GS used to be marked a loss but it should be a guaranteed win for Philly right now. Even down two starters, Joel Embiid and Josh Richardson, there is still more than the Warriors can handle with Ben Simmons playing really well and emerging players like Matisse Thybulle. Being at home helps too. Philly is one of the best home teams in the league at 21-2 SU and a profitable 13-8-2 ATS. The spread is reduced with a star like Embiid out but there are still lots of advantages to exploit. Take Philly.
Over Under Pick
At home, Philly tightens up the defense to just 101ppg allowed. That is really good and a product of all their length and commitment. The O/U numbers are even though at 11-11 so you really have to look at the opponent as much as the aggregate. Golden State does not have a lot of great scoring options so the under looks really good. Philly is more limited too with no Embiid, their top scorer. Take the under.
