Against the Spread Pick
The Georgetown Hoyas enjoyed an early February stretch in which they won three of four games, with two of those victories coming on the road. But tough times seem to have returned, as Georgia has suddenly dropped two straight and Mac McClung is questionable for Wednesday due to a foot injury. Although the Marquette Golden Eagles are mired in a three-game skid, there is some good news: this one is at home. Marquette is 12-2 at home this season compared to 3-6 on the road. Markus Howard went for 38 points against Providence this past weekend, raising his average to 27.1 ppg. Georgetown is 2-5 ATS in its last seven overall, 1-4 ATS in its last five against opponents with winning percentages over .600, and 2-6 ATS in its last eight as an underdog. The Golden Eagles 7-3 ATS in their last 10 overall, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 against opponents with winning records, and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 as favorites. MARQUETTE should be able to take care of business.
Over Under Pick
Howard is pouring in points for Marquette, but he does not get a ton of help. Nobody else is averaging more than 12.8 ppg (Sacar Anim). Georgetown has been stuck in the 60s in two consecutive contests, and missing McClung would only hurt. The under is 6-1 in the Hoyas’ last seven on the road, 4-1 in their last five following a loss, and 5-1 in their last six as underdogs. It is also 4-1 in the Golden Eagles’ last five overall and 14-4 in their last 18 following a loss. Go with the UNDER.
