Against the Spread Pick
This is not the same Georgetown Hoyas squad that defeated Creighton 83-80 on Jan. 15. Top two leading scorers Omer Yurtseven (ankle) and Mac McClung (foot) have since gone down with injuries and remain out indefinitely. Not coincidentally, the Hoyas 3-8 in 11 games since and currently saddled with a four-game losing streak. Creighton, on the other hand, 9-2 in 11 games since–including 5-1 in its past six. Ty-Shon Alexander (16.9 points per game) has scored at least 15 points in nine consecutive contests. Georgetown is 2-6 ATS in its last eight on the road, 2-5 ATS in its last seven against opponents with winning percentages over .600, and 3-7 ATS in its last 10 as an underdog. The Bluejays are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall, 4-0 ATS in their last four at home, and 5-0 ATS in their last five against opponents with winning records. This should be one-way traffic for CREIGHTON.
Over Under Pick
With its top two guys out, Georgetown’s leading scorer on the floor for is James Akinjo at a modest 13.4 ppg. This is a Hoyas squad that is turning the ball over 13.5 times per outing. Creighton has limited three of its past four foes to 65 points or fewer. The under is 6-2 in the Hoyas’ last eight on the road, 6-2 in their last eight on the road against opponents with winning home records, and 5-2 in their last seven following a loss. Look for this one to stay UNDER the total.
