Against The Spread Pick

This match-up will be played in one of the more competitive conferences in the country, the Big East. Though there is some separation between the top seed and the lower half of the conference, it feels like every game is a dog fight an any team could win at anytime. For example, Georgetown is only 4-7 in the Big East, but have a win against a team like Creighton, who just beat Seton Hall the other day. Butler on the other hand, is just 7-5 in conference play after they beat Xavier in mid-week action. These teams did meet a few weeks ago in Georgetown, where the Bulldogs got a road win by a score of 69-64. Now being at home, the Bulldogs have a slight advantage because of the success they have had at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Still this is the Big East and I believe Georgetown will find a way to keep this game close. It is starting to become crunch time for bubble teams like the Hoyas, so a good effort is a must here. I do like Butler to win this game, but I would lean to the Hoyas to cover because they have had success on the road.

Over Under Pick

When you look at the stats, these are two teams that trend towards the under. The Bulldogs score an average of 72.6 points per game at home, while allowing 59.1. On the flip side, the Hoyas score about 70 points per road game, but allow 74.3. The Bulldogs have seen the under cash in 4 of their last 5 games and 9 of their 14 home games this season. When these teams last met, the under cashed pretty easily and now that they are at Butler, I expect more of the same. Look for the Bulldogs defense to shut down the Hoyas and because of that, I will take the under as a lean.
