Against the Spread Pick
The Western Carolina Catamounts’ two most recent home losses do not bode well for their chances against the Furman Paladins on Saturday. Western Carolina fell to East Tennessee State by 19 points on Jan. 18 and then succumbed to UNC Greensboro by 14 on Jan. 29. In between the Catamounts took care of Wofford at home, but they remain inconsistent in their own friendly confines. Furman is tied with East Tennessee State atop the Southern Conference standings (9-2), one game ahead of UNC Greensboro. The Paladins have won four in a row and dominated three of those four opponents by at least 22 points. Three different guys have led the team in scoring over the past four contests and four are averaging in double-figures for the season. Go with FURMAN.
Over Under Pick
Western Carolina is scoring 79.1 ppg, while Furman comes in at 77.8 ppg. Mason Faulkner of the Catamounts is averaging 17.9 ppg and Carlos Dotson is not too far behind at 14.6 ppg. Dotson delivered 20 points at Samford on Wednesday. The Panadins pinned 101 points on Samford last month and have reached the 90 mark on more than a few occasions during the 2019-20 campaign. This one should go OVER the total.
